I’m Rooney Getu, a self-taught Portraits, documentary and street photographer currently living in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Capturing Gesture and emotion is one of the most important parts of my work, “Photography for me is not looking, it’s feeling. If you can’t feel what you’re looking at, then you’re never going to get others to feel anything when they look at your pictures.” 

As a photographer, I find great satisfaction in creating emotional pieces of art. It is my hope that my photos will inspire viewers to feel something, whether it be happiness, sadness, anger, or love. I believe that photographs have the power to connect us to one another and the world around us in a very special way.
